Emory's Cultural Overnight Recruitment Experience (CORE) Fall Visit Program

October 12, 2017 – October 14, 2017

Emory University invites you to apply to participate in Emory's CORE visit program. This program is for talented, high-achieving high school seniors who are traditionally first-generation college students and/or from underrepresented cultural or socioeconomic backgrounds.

The deadline to submit an application for the 2017 CORE visit program has passed. The deadline was August 16, 2017 by 5:00 p.m. ET. The Office of Undergraduate Admission is not accepting late applications. Details about the 2018 CORE visit program will be posted in the summer of 2018.

CORE Program

Over the three day visit, invited students will have the opportunity to explore campus, interact with current students, meet committed and diverse faculty and staff, and stay overnight in a residence hall.

CORE runs from Thursday early-afternoon through Saturday early-afternoon. Please keep in mind that selection to this program is not indicative of future admission to Emory University.

Travel Expenses for Participants

CORE is free for invited students. Invited students who live outside a 275-mile radius of Atlanta, Georgia, will have their travel expenses covered by the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Invited students within a 275-mile radius are expected to drive to campus.

Application Process

High school seniors are welcome to apply. Due to the brevity of the visit, only students living in the United States or Puerto Rico are eligible for consideration. Priority will also be given to those students who have not visited campus.

To be considered for the CORE visit programs, students must:

  • Complete the online application form
  • Submit self-reported high school transcript from 9th -11th grade
  • Submit self-reported senior year schedule
  • Submit self-reported SAT/ACT scores (though standardized exams scores are not required to apply for CORE, preference will be given in the review process to students who submit scores)

Please note, the deadline to apply for the CORE visit program has passed. The Office of Undergraduate Admission is not accepting late applications.

How do I know if I've been invited?

The Admission Team will review all CORE applications, and decisions will be communicated no later than Friday, September 8.

Please know that space is limited. If a student accepts the CORE invitation and then chooses to cancel after plane tickets have been purchased, the student and their family are responsible for reimbursing Emory University for the cost of the ticket.
